Potentilla fruticosa 'Goldfinger'

Potentillas are among the longest flowering shrubs, usually making a rounded deciduous shrub to 1m. x 1m. There are many yellow cultivars, of which this is one, as well as white, pink, red and combinations of this colours. They flower all summer and are easy to grow, making ground cover or dwarf hedges.

Abelia x grandiflora 'Confetti'

This is a variegated form of A. x grandiflora, an evergreen shrub with glossy foliage and pale pink flowers all summer and autumn. 'Confetti' is smaller than it's parent hybrid, with white variegated small leaves on a compact dwarf shrub. The pale pink flowers combine well with the foliage.

Verbena bonariensis

Short lived herbaceous perennial. Produces mauve flowers on stiff stems to 1 m. all summer. A 'transparent' plant, allowing views through the upright flower stems. It will seed freely. Good cut flower.
























































































Stipa gigantea

Large grass, flowers to 2 m. Flowering from summer (Silver) to autumn (buff). Full sunshine.
















































Sorbus aucuparia

Rowan, Mountain Ash. Usually a small deciduous tree native to Ireland, particularly in upland areas and on acidic soils. White flowers in Summer followed by orange red berries in autumn. A valuable food for birds. Good street or garden tree. Several cultivars and hybrids available, some in different colours.

























Passiflora x Kewensis 'Lady Margaret'


A hybrid 'Passion Flower' which has smaller flowers than the Passiflora caerulea but which are of a deep red and very striking. Although fast growing, it is less hardy than the caerulea and needs protection in most areas.
